I have struggled with losing weight all of my life.

I've tried EVERYTHING.  Here's what I've learned.

Amy's Story

I was a chubby child, and hated it.
As a teenager, I tried every diet known to mankind.  I battled my weight constantly, but lost the war when I moved out on my own, got married, and had my first child.

At my heaviest, I weighed in at 431 pounds.  I didn't like my life or myself, and decided that if I had to "white knuckle" the weight loss process again, I would never succeed. My cravings were out of control and my appetite was never satisfied.

After watching an infomercial about gastric bypass, I scheduled my surgery in 2002.

Over the next year and a half I lost 260 pounds!

I felt attractive and in control, and it translated to all areas of my life and being.  I thought that my days of struggling with my weight were behind me.

Then I fell in love, got remarried and I spent the next two years pregnant.  I gained 50 pounds with my second son, and then lost 30 pounds, only to find out I was pregnant (again) with my daughter.  I decided that while I was pregnant, that there was no need to deprive myself of my cravings, and all of my friends were always telling me, "oh, you're pregnant, the extra weight is cute", and "you're allowed to eat whatever you want".  I knew better, but chose to believe it anyway.

My daughter was born in May of 2007.  I had gained another 50 pounds with her and lost ONLY 6 pounds.  Now I was no longer "cute and pregnant",  just up 70 pounds again.  My next thought was, that after I am done nursing, then I will have the energy to start dieting again.

In July, I started exercising.  Giving up on the battle against my cravings, I decided that if I did not want to control what went into my mouth, that I would just exercise away the pounds.  BUT... there was a problem with that.  In spite of my license to eat ("justified" due to exercise) my weight was moving in the wrong direction, and my energy levels were bottoming out.  Not a good situation for a mom of three, with two babies to take care of.

THIS changes everything!

At the end of August 2007, my husband and I found out about Ascential Bioscience and checked it out.  We talked to the company and even though they hadn't officially "launched" yet to the public, they sent us some samples.  The first product we tried was Ascential LeanAfter a few days on product, we ran out. Three days later, I told my husband,

"I don't care what you have to do, get me more of that stuff!

We were already taking premium nutritional products from a different company before we tried these, so the impact of the products on us really surprised us.

We immediately signed up (to get the discount), ordered a bunch of products, and learned about how the products worked.  For me, a distinct lack of energy was my second issue next to weight loss.  When I added Ascential WeightRx™ and Ascential Ultra Nutrients to the Lean, my energy skyrocketed.   Suddenly, my "to-do" list was shrinking instead of growing, my waist was shrinking, my exercise time wasn't a scary thing to dread, and I felt better all day.

By of the beginning of October, my weight had dropped from 224 pounds to 210 pounds and my selection of "clothes-that-fit" was increasing.  The inches come off first, then the weight.  It's nice to feel comfortable in my clothes again and I seem to be losing an average of about 2 to 3 pounds a week.  This is a journey that I am still taking, and will be on for my entire life.

The journey is much nicer now that I am not struggling with cravings and an out of control appetite.

*Note: I am pregnant again (a danger of getting more fit - be careful!), so I have stopped taking Ascential Lean and WeightRX and I am focusing only on nutrition.  I'm currently taking Ascential Ultra Nutrients (they are actually better than prenatal vitamins), and I use the Ascential Probiotic Plus™, Protein, Smartshakes, and Energy drink.

I'm excited to know that when I'm ready to lose the baby weight, I've got energy, appetite control (Ascential Lean), and a fat burner (Ascential WeightRx™) as my secret weapons!  Just as important as that, being a distributor for Ascential has been a blessing.  It has replaced my work income and allows me to stay home as a full-time mom.  And I get to feel good about helping people!

Ascential has set up product systems, so that you do not have to guess which products to use or how to combine them.  Here are some of the products/systems I use.  I recommend them highly:

I recommend:

Ascential Energy™ gives me what I need to keep up with a "bazillion" kids!

This systems combines all the right products to give you everything you need for a month: nutrients, appetite control, fat burning, energy, protein, and smart shakes.

Ascential Moomiyocontains only Premium Altai Moomiyo, rich in polyphenols, humic and fulvic acids, and organically-bound trace elements.  Well known for its healing properties, Moomiyo has been used traditionally for centuries as a potent adaptogenic compound. More recently, it was used secretly by Soviet and Eastern Bloc athletes to enhance their training and to adapt to the stresses and demands of peak physical performance.

I LOVE how good I feel when I exercise while taking Ascential Moomiyo and I LOVE the endurance it gives me!

There are many other great Ascential Bioscience nutritional products for weight loss and athletic performance, as well as products and systems available for wellness and general health.

A note about my gastric bypass:

I am not going to advocate gastric bypass surgery.  While it was successful for me, it was still a temporary fix, not a permanent one.  I know several people who have had it done.  More than half of them have had serious medical issues, and most of them are not keeping the weight off.

Surgery, just like anything else is a tool, and not necessarily a safe one.  I would only recommend it as a very last resort when every other option has been attempted.

If you are considering weight loss surgery, please look at Shawn's page (or the other pages) on this site, as he is successfully losing weight and having appetite control WITHOUT surgery.
